On Sunday, 09/07/2017, and within the HNEC preparations for getting ready for any electoral event, Al-Zawya Electoral Management Office, held a workshop titled: “monitoring electoral risks” in the Sub-constituency (Sabrata).
Mr. Abd-Al-Gasem Krair, the Mayor of Sabrata, opened the workshop and emphasized the importance and value of the institutional cooperation between the HNEC and the Municipalities, logistically and administratively, for implementing technical, scientific and administrative workshops. Then Mr. Salah Al-Kmashi, Head of HNEC Electoral Operations Department, thanked the Municipality for its cooperation and support. After that he highlighted the importance of monitoring electoral risks, which are supposed to include security, administrative, legal and environmental risks, to avoid any bottlenecks that may occur during the electoral processes which are expected at any time.
The workshop was also attended by Mr. Mustapha Al-Heshshani, and the trainer, Mr. Fathi Saeed who led the workshop technically, in addition to some members from the General Administration; as well as some key trainers, coordinators, political activists and civil society organizations.
The workshop was concluded with recommendations on the strengths and weaknesses with solutions to address them; building on the lessons learned from previous electoral events.
