On Tuesday, 9th May, 2017, Mr Abd Al-Hakim Al-Shaab, HNEC Board Member, delivered a presentation on the strategy of communication and building relations, during the second day of the workshop which is currently being held in Tunis (Tunisia), supervised by the International Organization for Electoral Systems (IFES) titled: “HNEC’s strategy of communication and building relationships and publishing the results of the national questionnaire on electoral participation in Libya”
The document, which HNEC intends to implement within the framework of developing and improving its organizational and practical capacities, came in seven chapters, including the strategic objectives, their principles, elements, implementation channels, the targeted categories and the required resources for implementation.
Mr. Al-Shaab said that this project aims at building strong relations with the electoral partners including the public, state institutions and civil society organizations, in order to raise the level of electoral participation.
From their side, HNEC staff, under the supervision of IFES experts, discussed how to develop an action plan to activate the strategy, listing some activities and events that will be directed directly to the public, according to a specific time line. The workshop also addressed the results of the survey conducted by IFES and how to include them within the strategy plan.
