On Wednesday, February 24th, 2021, HNEC Chairman Dr. Emad Al-Sayah, met the Head of the Civil Register Authority, Mr. Mohammad Beltamer, in the presence of Commissioner Mr. Abdulhakim Al-Shaab, at the HNEC Board’s office.
During the meeting, they reviewed the ways of cooperation between the HNEC and the Civil Register Authority, in preparation for the elections scheduled for December of this year. They also discussed some proposals for developing and updating the voter register, providing the Commission with a database of youths who have reached the legal age to register as voters during the upcoming elections.
From his side, Mr. Beltamer confirmed that the Civil Register Authority welcomes the cooperation with the HNEC, is committed to overcome difficulties hindering the participation of all citizens, in order to expand the participation, thus giving the elections the highest levels of credibility.
