The Chairman of the High National Elections Commission, Dr. Emad Al-Sayeh received, today, Monday, the 14th of December, 2020, the Spanish Ambassador to Libya Mr. Francisco Javier and his accompanying delegation at the Headquarters of the Commission.
The meeting reviewed the commission’s preparations, and its level of readiness to implement the electoral events scheduled to take place on the 24th of December, 2021, and the development of the electoral process in Libya, since the election of the General National Congress, until the election of the House of Representatives.
This visit comes within the framework of the international community’s support for the democratic path in Libya, to review the Commission’s readiness for implementation of elections, and to discuss support and expertise that could be provided in the field of election management and implementation
For his part, the Spanish Ambassador praised the efforts made by the commission and its management to provide the ideal conditions for holding elections in accordance with the highest international standards.
