At HNEC Headquarters, on Monday, April 12th, 2021, the HNEC signed a cooperation agreement with the General Secretariat of the Arab Maghreb Union, within the framework of regional support for the democratic process in Libya and the consolidation of cooperation relations in the electoral field among the neighboring countries.
The agreement was signed by HNEC Chairman, Dr. Emad Al-Sayah and Dr. Al-Tayeb Al-Bakkoush, representing the General Secretariat of the Arab Maghreb Union; in the presence of Commissioner Mr. Abd Al-Hakim Al-Shaab, and the HNEC General Director Dr. Yahya Al-Jadeed.
The agreement is composed of some Articles, including cooperation in organizing conferences, seminars, training programs and workshops that contribute to strengthening the culture of democracy in Libyan society, and it emphasizes cooperation and integration among Member States, on issues related to elections and institutional capacity building.
