HNEC Chairman Dr. Emad Al-Sayah, welcomed, today, Wednesday, March 17th, 2021, the Deputy Ambassador of the Netherlands to Libya, H.E. Gabrielel Metz, and her accompanying delegation, in the presence of the two members of HNEC Board, Mr. Abd Al-Hakim Al-Shaab and Mr. Abu Bakr Marda, as part of the international community’s support for the elections in Libya.
During the meeting, which took place at HNEC Board office, they discussed the plans for future international support for HNEC to implement the upcoming elections and the challenges that may face the electoral process at the local and international levels.
H.E. Metz expressed her country’s readiness to provide electoral technical and advisory support, taking advantages from Netherland’s historical experience in the field of Law and elections, to support HNEC’s efforts to implement national event that Libyans have unanimously agreed upon, as the path to stability, progress and societal peace.
After the meeting, the two members of HNEC Board Mr. Al-Shaab and Mr. Marda accompanied H.E. the Deputy Ambassador and her accompanying delegation, for a tour inside HNEC premises to see its facilities and the level of preparations, in terms of the infrastructure, that ensures the provision of ideal conditions for holding elections, in accordance with internationally recognized standards.
