On Thursday, February 25th, 2021,The HNEC Chairman Dr. Emad Al-Sayah, met the European Union’s Ambassador to Libya, H.E. Mr. Jose Antonio Sabadell, as part of the international community’s support for the political process in Libya.
During the meeting, which took place at the HNEC Board office, they reviewed the developments of the electoral process according to the current political scene, and the HNEC’s readiness to fulfill its responsibilities in consolidating the democratic path.
Further, they discussed the technical and advisory support provided by the European Union mission through the “PEPOL” Project, which is supervised by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and the cooperation with the Mission in observing elections, trying to get advantage of the international experience in this field.
