Today, Thursday morning, the headquarters of the High National Elections Commission witnessed the closing ceremony of the training course, which was held in cooperation with the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) from 22 to 26 November 2020. The course themed “The Comprehensive Journalist”, targeted public outreach coordinators at the HNEC and affiliated offices.

The closing was attended by the member of the Board of Commissioners, Mr. Abu Bakir Marda, and the Director General of the Commission, Dr. Yahya Al-Jadid, and a number of Heads of departments and representatives of IFES. The ceremony included the presentation of samples of the work of the trainees in still and video photography and video editing, in addition to other training events in the media & event planning.

The Director General, Dr. Al-Jadid praised the efforts made to make this course a success, and the extent of commitment shown by the trainees despite the geographical distance as the attendees came from the different cities of Libya, stressing that, this indicates the extent of the determination to drive the next electoral event, planned for December 2021, to success, also referring to the awareness role undertaken by the public outreach coordinators to enhance the level of electoral participation.

“This course is the third of its kind and comes within a series of training activities of the Public Outreach Plan for the year 2020-2021, and it will continue in other advanced areas in media” said the Director of the Public Outreach Department, Mr. Mustafa Al-Ferjani.
