A workshop on (Electoral Violence and its Impact on the Participation of Women in Elections) was organized at the headquarters of the High National Elections Commission – Wednesday – in the presence of female employees of the General Administration and the of Electoral Administration Office of Tripoli.
The workshop, which was held under the supervision of the Women Support Unit at the Commission, included a discussion of several issues on the impact of violence on women’s participation in the electoral process, and a review of extracts from laws that support addressing violence.
The Head of the Women Support Unit, Ms. Enas Al-Hajji, indicated that the workshop activity comes within the plan of activities to be implemented by the Unit in the last quarter of this year, announcing that, similar workshops will be held under the supervision of the corresponding units in the Electoral Administration Offices in the municipalities of Benghazi and Sabha.
The workshop coincides with the celebration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which falls on the 25th of November of each year.
