The Director General of the High National Elections Commission, Dr. Yahya al-Jadid, held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, an expanded meeting through Zoom application with the Heads of the Electoral Administration Offices of the Commission in the different regions of Libya.

The meeting, which was attended by more than (20) participants, reviewed the assessment of the situation of the Electoral Administration Offices, in terms of their preparations and readiness to implement the elections in December 2021, and the most prominent obstacles and challenges and ways to overcome them.

Dr. Al-Jadid emphasized the importance of such communication between the General Administration of HNEC and its Electoral Administration Offices, in light of the developments in the political process and the tasks awaiting the Commission, which will need intensified efforts, in addition to raising the level of preparations and discussing potential needs and obstacles.

The Heads of offices reviewed their offices’ staffing requirements and office equipment needs, in addition to the administrative obstacles and the readiness of their premises.

It is noteworthy that the HNEC has (24) Electoral Administration Offices spread throughout the regions of Libya. These offices are tasked with the implementation of the electoral process, each within its constituency.
