HNEC Women Support Unit discussed some topics related to electoral awareness and promoting the participation of all cultural components of Libyan society during the upcoming elections.
This meeting was held by the Head of the Unit’s, Ms. Enas Al-Towaini, this morning, Tuesday, September 29th, 2020, with representatives of some civil society institutions and activists from the Tebu, Tuareg and Amazegh components, at HNEC Headquarters in Tripoli.
The first preparatory meeting reviewed the package of awareness programs scheduled during the upcoming elections, the most prominent obstacles and challenges facing the awareness process targeting the Libyan cultural components, and ways to overcome them according to an appropriate educational speech that establishes the right to participate for everybody. During the meeting, Ms. Al-Towaini explained the concepts related to the legislative elections and the importance of the electoral vote, as it represents the national value which affects the security, stability and unity of Libya in all its components and regions.
The participants discussed some issues related to the means of communication between the Commission and its partners, calling for intensified efforts to support any upcoming national electoral event, stressing the importance of awareness programs reaching the most far areas and activating the role of electoral offices with more activities and events.
