With all feelings of pride and honor, the High National Elections Commission celebrates the Martyr’s Day, September 16th of every year, in commemoration of the martyr of the Sheikh of martyrs, Mr. Omar Al-Mukhtar, and all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the pride and honor of this country, during their jihad against colonialism, injustice, aggression and terrorism; in order to enable the Libyan people to obtain their rights to a decent life, freedom and peace.
On this occasion, HNEC prays for Allah to bring mercy on the souls of its righteous martyrs who were assassinated by the unrighteous treachery, on May 2nd, 2018, as thirteen martyrs rose their souls to the mercy of Allah with their pure blood, presenting an epic of sacrifice and loyalty that will be remembered by history over the generations.
The HNEC confirms its determination to commit itself to achieve the aspirations of Libyans towards freedom and stability.
