The HNEC Persons with Disabilities Support Unit has organized in coordination with Misurata Subcommittee of the Central Committee for Municipal Council elections (CCMCE), today, Wednesday, August 19th, 2020, a cooperative program to exchange experiences on the accessibility to polling centers for PWDs, to inspect the centers designated for them, with the participation of the Training Department of the HNEC and in cooperation with the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).
The program targeted representatives of civil society organizations in the city of Misurata, and covered multiple topics related to the comprehensive architectural design of polling centers and the mechanisms for the inspection of centers allocated for PWDs in order to allow them to participate in Municipal Council elections.
This program is a continuation of the cooperation that targeted, during the past week, trainers from the Municipalities of Ghat, Kikla, Sharqia and Traghen, and will continue in the coming days targeting other Municipalities that are in the process of preparations for the elections of their Municipal Councils.
