The representative of the High National Elections Commission in the Arab Youth Network, Mr. Mahmoud El-Kadiki, participated on Thursday, 16 July 2020, in the first virtual meeting of the representatives of the network in the electoral administrations on Zoom platform.
The meeting, which brought together all representatives of the electoral administrations affiliated with the Arab EMBs, exchanged views on the launching of the network, in addition to defining tasks and needs, and formulating work in a way that contributes to enhancing electoral participation and political work.
Mr. El-Kadiki contributed by presenting the experience of the Commission in the electoral public outreach, indicating in his intervention that the Commission is proceeding in accordance with its corporate strategy to expand its awareness-raising activities for the youth segment as it is considered one of the major segments of the Libyan society.
In the same context, the Commission’s Public Outreach and External Relations department has started to form a working group to develop a work plan as part of its future plan to communicate with youth community through its partners of civil society activists and bloggers.
The Arab EMBs announced during its last meeting, held in Mauritania on March 4, 2020, the launch of a project aiming at establishing a Youth Network with the purpose of enhancing electoral participation. While it had announced earlier the establishment of the Women’s Network.
