The Chairman of the High National Elections Commission Dr. Emad Al-Sayah met today, Monday, July 13th, 2020, the Head of the Tebu Congress Mr. Issa Abdel-Majid Mansour and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the member of the Board of Commissioners, Mr. Abu Bakr Marda, at HNEC headquarters.

This meeting comes within the framework of exploring the obstacles that hinder the participation of cultural components in any upcoming electoral process, in the event that political settlements lead to elections. The meeting discussed the obstacles facing the Tebu Component to engage in the electoral process, and ways to make it successful, in addition to reviewing proposals that would establish effective participation of all components of Libyan society.

The meeting stressed the need for electoral laws to consider and incorporate the rights of cultural components, by allocating seats that guarantee wide representation for them, in order to enable them to express their aspiration to build a state of rights and citizenship.
