The High National Elections Commission (HNEC)’s Training Section contributed in the implementation of a training program sessions in Tripoli that targeted a group of Libyan women. The training program, which was organized by HNEC’s Women Support Unit (WSU) and spanned for two days, comes within the framework of the WSU’s “Electoral Awareness Ambassadors” program.
HNEC Board Member, Mrs. Rabab Halab, in her speech at the conclusion of the training program on Wednesday, February 19th, 2020, praised the role of the Training Section for enriching the training sessions, considering this a positive step in utilizing local expertise in the training of HNEC staff and managing workshops and dialogue sessions that benefit the community awareness in particular and the entire electoral process in general.
For her part, member of the training team, Mrs. Wafya Nasif, pointed out that the Training Section at the Operations Department contributes, in accordance with its tasks, to enriching the awareness process by the introduction of electoral concepts and the various stages of their implementation through a training plan, targeting those involved in the electoral process and the polling stations.
It is worth mentioning that the Women’s Support Unit at HNEC had previously organized, in cooperation with the (International Foundation for Electoral Systems – IFES), a training workshop in Tunisia within its “Electoral Awareness Ambassadors“ program.
