Mr. Nuri Alabbar, the head of the High National Elections Commission, announced in a press conference Sunday 8 July that the number of voters who voted for the election of National Congress has exceeded one million seven hundred thousand voters and that this number will grow after the polling centers that were closed yesterday have opened. Dr. Alabbar considered this result a great success, indicating that it did not register any accidents or damage affecting the electoral process. According to the preliminary statistics, about 1453 polling centers out of 1550 polling centers around Libya have opened on the polling day at 8 Am Saturday 7 July.
It has been also announced the arrival of the results of the first constituency "Toburak" which will be entered into data system in the Data Entry center in HNEC, under the supervision of the observers. It has been also released that the transfer of ballot boxes from main constituencies to main headquarters of HNEC in Tripoli has started after the results have been collected.
